The camera again turns on, two days later on the time stamp at the bottom left of the image when later displayed.
"The Venture Star has exited the system and is in open space heading back for Earth. The 'Dead' world. Everything I grew up with, all that I ever knew, is still there but never again reachable for me. And I do not care.
"I am going to be a father now according to my mate." The grin of an expectant father crosses his face briefly, then vanishes.
"Hometree is now occupied, the cooking pits and hammocks have been constructed as well as the looms. They are such a productive people, and the songs, wow. I still do not know the entire language, but I can pick out words, and it's beautiful."
A door opens, an avatar ducks her head and enters the room. Jake turns to meet the avatar. "What's up, Lin?"
Even though this was an avatar she still carried her Earthly accent, North Korean. "The fences have been secured, the ammo has been stored."
"And what about the airships?" Jake asks.
"Most have had the key parts that you requested be removed. There's a few left to do. By tomorrow at the latest. And as you requested, two Samson S-2's will remain functional when and if they are ever needed."
Lin had been placed in charge of overseeing the dismantling of the airships and re-appropriation of the weapons and ammo. Those had been moved to a smaller Hometree not far from their new Kelutrel. As had the airship supplies that were removed to prevent fast repair should the tawtute return.
"Good, we still have a few pilots, one of them being an avatar, and will need to be relocating the VLink Pods to other locations to prevent preset tracking should they get any of the other 'bridge' functions operational on their return."
Jake had been implementing a lot of his Marine training in all of this. Reason being, why the hell would Earth just give up on this so easily, there are several ships inbound, but three days earlier they had dropped clean off the radar. His tech had no idea how to find them again, stating that they were probably on some sort of modulating frequency that they could not track.
The earliest ship should be about two months out at this point. And the Venture Star was still visible on the monitors.
"Alright, Jake, I'll make sure everything is ready for that too." Lin left the room, again, ducking under the door.
Jake returned to the camera. "So that was Lin, she is in charge of a lot of stuff I won't go into on VLog for security reasons. Now where was I? Oh yes," Jake now glared at the camera. "I know at some point that someone, upon his or her arrival, will be tasked to hack these logs and most likely succeed. So here is my message to you. Stay on the compound. Do not leave the fence line, do not attempt to arm yourselves. I am watching you!"
"Jake Sully, out. Set to preset encryption and log out."
